Jasmin et Cigarette EDP 100ml

- Description
It is the era of the grand studios when Greta Garbo and Marlene Dietrich magnetized men with a Hollywood look in the eye, smoking a cigarette in a smoky black and white ambiance. The rough edges of femininity.
Jasmin et Cigarette is the smell of a woman’s skin when exposed to the dark seduction of night. A hazy atmosphere. The reminder of a fantasy, of an indelible trail she leaves on a dress at the break of day or in the intimate memory of the person who made love to her. It is classic French style as seen by Gainsbourg, it’s a woman from the 80’s who smokes Gitane cigarettes and wears jeans and who, with astounding naturalness, claims her sensuality as a right.
Transparency in sophistication, just a trace of jasmine mingled with the so far neglected smell of a cigarette. Jasmin et Cigarette is the twilight zone, the banned, the addiction. She is an icon, the longed-for woman.
NOTES

HOW IT WEARS
Jasmin et Cigarette opens as a true, green jasmine fragrance, before the drydown reveals a resinous sweetness reminiscent of raw tobacco. What happens next seems to depend on who is wearing it – for some people it stays as a true jasmine, on some people it descends into an ashy, smoky floral, and for some people it toggles between the two for the duration of the wear. This fragrance has an incredible projection (gentle, but always detectable) and lasts 8-10 hours on the skin.
LORE LOVES
We love that Jasmin et Cigarette isn’t actually super literal – you may think you know what it will smell like from the title, but like all Etat Libre d’Orange fragrances, it will have some surprises in store for you. We also love that it is totally different depending on the wearer, but no matter who the wearer is, it’s always sensual, mysterious and powerful.
ABOUT THE BRAND
Founded by Etienne de Swardt in 2006, Etat Libre d’Orange is an ambitious, audacious perfume house. Its name meaning “Free Orange State” in French, this is a house with an emphasis on originality, audacity, authenticity and freedom of expression. Each of Etat Libre d’Orange’s offerings is uncompromisingly surprising and knows no constraints in terms of creativity nor raw materials.
A perfumer for LVMH for many years before going rogue, Etienne de Swardt founded Etat Libre d’Orange with a view to turn the commercial fragrance industry on its head. Its launch certainly made waves, not only due to the raunchy fragrance names, but for the compositions themselves.
Read any review of Etat Libre d’Orange online and you will see a wide range of opinions, from disgusted to delighted, from aroused to inspired. We are obsessed with the daring whimsy of this fragrance house and so excited to have it at Lore!
