Stora Skuggan’s Azalai + Etat Libre d’Orange’s You or Someone Like You
On today’s Fragrance Friday episode of Felicity’s Fusions, Flic has done it again and come up with a new layering combination that we just can’t stop wearing.
Her fragrance fusion this week is Azalai + You or Someone Like You. Keep reading to find out how and why these two fragrances work so well together!
Inspired by a sacred acacia tree that once lived in the Sahara desert, the main accord in Azalai is gum acacia, a syrup made from acacia sap, which provides a sugary sweetness that’s balanced by salty amber and incense. A touch of mint tea and dried fruit pays homage to the Tuareg caravan riders that revered the tree as a symbol of the resilience of life.
NOTES
Top: Blood Orange, Mint
Middle: Saffron, Dried Fruit
Base: Amber, Gum Acacia, Incense, Vevione
Inspired by the quintessential Los Angeles woman, You or Someone Like You is the smell of green juices drunk through plastic straws, of manicured yet bohemian gardens dotted along Mulhulland Drive, of a mojito at a chic bar frequented by the elite. While its notes are undisclosed, it’s a herbaceous, maybe even fruity white musk with a very prominent and plush mint note.

The fusion
Combining You or Someone Like You and Azalai is like finding an oasis in the desert. An unexpected spring of fresh herbaceousness against the backdrop of shimmering sand and resinous wood.
“I love this combination. The mint in You or Someone Like you plays up the mint in Azalai, whose warm tones provide contrast for the cool tones in You or Someone Like You.”
“The result is this rich, fruity, woody fragrance with overtones of leafy fresh mint that’s both grounding and refreshing. Highly recommend!”
