Weleda
Founded in 1921, Weleda is the world’s leading manufacturer of holistic, natural, organic cosmetics and pharmaceutical products.
With a focus on the responsibility humans have to each other and the environment, Weleda conducts business in a way that is socially responsible and ecologically sound. In 1922, their first medicinal herb garden was established in Schwäbisch Gmünd, Germany. Today, they grow medicinal plants according to the principles of biodynamic farming in their eight Weleda gardens, located around the world.
Weleda takes a holistic approach to skincare; they believe that looking after your body serves not only beauty but also health. By drawing on the wisdom and virtuous properties of nature, their philosophy is to combine the effects of natural active ingredients to strengthen the skin’s own powers of self-healing. Their name, Weleda, is actually derived from the Germanic word “Veleda”, which was a title once given to wise, healing women.
Natrue certified, all Weleda products are 100% natural. They aim to use only the purest wild-harvested, biodynamic or organically grown ingredients. They have never tested any of their products on animals, and have biodegradable formulas containing zero microplastics. Weleda also actively fights for biodiversity and continues to reduce its emissions in order to become a carbon-neutral company.
