Festival Fragrances for Summer
It’s music festival season here in Vic, and for Fragrance Friday today, Piper is showing us how to relive the memories of your fave festival all year round…through fragrance, of course!
Piper’s recommendations are a layering combo – which makes sense if we’re recreating the scent of a music festival. Throughout the day there are so many sights and sounds to absorb at a festival – and also, let’s be honest, limited access to showers!
Piper’s combo today is Map of the Heart’s v.6 (The Pink Heart of Ecstacy) layered on top of Sécrétions Magnifiques by Etat Libre d’Orange.
We are well aware of the reputation Sécrétions Magnifique has, but for that reason, we really think it works best as a layering scent to add a little funk to a composition. Combined here with the Pink Heart, the result is sweet, spicy, fresh and herbaceous, with just a little bit of a sweaty edge.
Secretions Magnifiques Notes
Top: Marine Accord, Salt Accord, Aldehyde
Middle: Blood Accord, Milk Accord, Adrenaline Accord
Base: Sandalwood, Iris, Opoponax
“The shiso and sumac of v.6 actually pair perfectly with the seaweed and sweat accords of Sécrétions – this is a very unique but wearable combo!”
So if you’re after an avant-guarde layering combination, look no further than these two that’ll help you stand out from the crowd for more than just your outfit.
v.6 The Pink Heart – The Heart of Ecstasy Notes
Top: Shiso Leaf Accord, Neroli Oil, Basil Oil
Middle: Narcissus Absolute France, Jasmine Absolute, Broom Absolute, Orris Butter
Base: Sumac Accord, Pipe Tobacco Accord, Cistus Absolute, Australian Sandalwood
The summer music festival vibe:
“This smells like you’ve spent all day or a few days at a festival and you’re on your way home, exhausted but full of endorphins from singing and dancing the whole time.”
Sécrétions Magnifiques is certainly not for the faint of heart, but for our lovers of animalic fragrances, you’ll be hard-pressed to find something dirtier and more… human… than this. Quite the impact!
Then Map of the Heart’s The Pink Heart is strong and intoxicating, whilst also being quite refined as it has a beautiful dry, green floral feel accented by interesting earthy notes.
Layered together = summer music festival perfection.
