- Description
Meet Bistro Boy: an olfactory love letter to wining and dining at Sydney’s most revered establishments.
All juiced up with eucalyptus, tomato leaf, and mint, this spritz summons burrata salad, a stolen glance, and the batting of lashes.
Wear to relive last weekend’s long lunch with the girls, or before trialling the new locale in your own company (à la Carrie). You’ll be one spray away from enough confidence to leave your number via lipliner on a napkin — that waiter is really cute.
FICIFOLIA SYDNEY COLLECTION
These Sydney-centric smells are glossy, intoxicating and brimming with life. Are you spritzing before a Sunday Bill’s debrief (post-Berner), or a date night in Paddo? No matter what pocket of the cosmopolis you’re in, Sydney’s energy is palpable and signals endless possibilities. In their Sydney collection, Ficifolia presents perfumes that will outlast your Bondi-to-Bronte trek and cling to your favourite beach kaftan, like wet hands to a glossy magazine.

HOW IT WEARS
Bistro Boy begins green and herbaceous, like a basil garnish torn up over a delectable dish. Tomato leaf is definitely the most prominent note in the bouquet of herbs, and stays that way the entire time you’re wearing Bistro Boy. As the fragrance settles it’s sweetened by white florals and becomes more creamy and lactonic due to the burrata note, before settling down to a cosy yet chic base of cedar and musk. For a green scent, Bistro Boy has incredible lasting power, we get 6-8 hours of mouth-watering goodness on the skin when we wear it.
LORE LOVES
Not that we’re supposed to have favourites, but we think Bistro Boy might just be our fave in the Ficifolia line so far. It’s so unique and has such a cheeky sense of fun to it – it never fails to put a smile on your face when you wear it. Don’t be scared of the tomato leaf note – Bistro Boy doesn’t smell like a salad; it’s in fact an incredibly wearable scent due to the artful balance of herbs, florals and lactonic notes. A savoury gourmand like you’ve never experienced before!
ABOUT THE BRAND
Ficifolia Fragrances was conceptualised in the Melbourne lockdowns during the Covid pandemic of 2020. Founder, Sophie Marcoux, struggled with the loss of face-to-face time with friends, family and Melbourne culture. During her pre-covid travels, Sophie would buy herself a perfume in whatever country she was in to as a scent souvenir. Inspired by the connection between scent and memory (plus a hint of desperation for some outside time during lockdown), Sophie began developing scents that reflected her life in Melbourne. If she couldn’t actually be out with her friends sipping vino at Marion, she wanted to smell like it.
Ficifolia aims to harness the memory-igniting power of fragrance, dreaming up signature scents worthy of a spot on your vanity. Potency is served in smell and storytelling, with each bottle ‘reverse-engineering’ a moment, time or place gone by in Australian cities. Each bottle pays homage to niche local experiences: first came a trilogy capsule celebrating distinctly ‘Melbourne’ vibes in 2023, and in 2024 a suite of Sydney-centric scents followed.
Proudly Australian-owned and produced, Ficifolia Fragrances are vegan and cruelty free, using a combination of natural and synthetic ingredients. All Ficifolia Fragrances are an Extrait de Parfum with 25% concentration.
