This composition is built on a rejection of the gender binary, using notes traditionally associated with “masculine” fragrances in a “feminine way”, proving that it’s all made up, and anyone can wear any fragrance they like.
Ex Vetiver is an overdose of vetiver with no less than 3 different varieties in the formula: Vetiver from Haiti, India, and Indonesia. “Ex” in Latin means “derived from”, so Ex Vetiver in English is “derived from vetiver”.

HOW IT WEARS
When Ex Vetiver is first sprayed, you’re hit with the bright juiciness of bergamot and lemon; hesperidic, almost fizzy. It doesn’t take long though before you reach the heart of the fragrance, the vetiver! The combination of the three different vetivers allows every olfactory facet of this incredible note to be explored. It’s dry, spicy, grassy, green, but as it settles it becomes more creamy, leathery, smoky, even powdery (depending on your skin chemistry). The quintessential Juliette has a Gun base notes of ambroxan and musk aid the fragrance in projecting and anchor it to the skin for 6-8 hours.

Ex Vetiver is a totally new direction for Juliette has a Gun – we haven’t seen anything like this from them before! It is fresher, greener and spicier than anything they’ve ever done, and such a beautiful interpretation of vetiver. It seems like vetiver is having a real moment lately, which we love, considering it’s one of the most important and versatile ingredients one finds in a perfumer’s palette. Like patchouli, it’s almost always hiding somewhere in a composition, but rarely gets a moment to itself like this.

Created in 2005, Juliette has a Gun is the wonderful fragrance world of Romano Ricci. Born into fragrance royalty, Romano Ricci had perfume in his DNA as the great grandson of Nina Ricci. The Juliette has a Gun range was originally based solely around the rose – like a woman, Ricci says a rose is beautiful, intoxicating, delicate and thorny. The Juliette has a Gun range is contemporary, assertive and full of life. Ricci was inspired by the Shakespearean tragedy, Romeo and Juliette, however the modern Juliette in this story comes armed – she carries a weapon, her weapon is her scent. And she uses her scent for seduction, flirtation and provocation. Juliette has a Gun is rock meet romance in a bottle.
