HOW IT WEARS
Slow World starts with the Pu’er tea, a tea with grassy, fruity, warm and sweet facets. The fragrance is then heated by golden saffron and ambery Dragon’s Blood resin, which together amplify the warmth of the tea. As Slow World dries down, a creamy base of gourmand malt, sandalwood and vanilla await, balanced by the soft wafting smoke of incense. With a concentration of up to 20% parfum, this fragrance lasts on the skin for 6-8 hours.
LORE LOVES
What if tea was caramelised? The answer is in Slow World. A modern gourmand if ever there was one, this is a completely beguiling fragrance we just can’t get enough of. Warm, creamy and delicious, its sweetness is tempered by the earthiness of the tea, resins and incense. The tea keeps it fresh enough that it never gets too heavy, which makes Slow World wearable all day… and night.
ABOUT THE BRAND
Founded by Sandy Wong in 2021, Chasing Scents is an Australian perfume house dedicated to capturing the essence of tea through fragrance.
Chasing Scents perfumes draw their inspiration from the experience and ritual of drinking tea, from enjoying it by yourself to sharing it with loved ones. Their scents are modern but still rich in their cultural roots, with formulas that use a variety of teas, natural extracts, aroma compounds and resins.
Sandy grew up in Sydney, Australia; where she grew curious about her mother’s miniature perfume collection from Hong Kong. Today, she is a scientist with a PhD in Chemistry. It was during her candidature she experimented with scents out of hours and discovered the scientific mystery of perfumes with her partner.
Many mainstream tea perfumes have a rather extrapolated representation of what a “tea” aroma is, using other notes to replicate the smell of tea. That’s where Chasing Scents is different – they use actual tea extracts to create realistic and true tea fragrances. Tinctures and soxhlet extractions of dried whole flower buds and loose tea leaves are performed over multiple cycles under strict conditions to obtain aromatic concentrates that smell good enough to drink.
